~* How do you take a Screenshot? *~
For PCPrint screen works by copying an image on screen to your clipboard so you can paste it into a document/photo editing software and save / print it.
To take a screenshot using Print Screen follow these steps....
*On some computers or laptops you may have to press the FN (function) key plus Prt Scr. On these computers/laptops the Function (FN) button works the same as Insert. |
For MacUnlike Windows, Mac OS X can capture either a specific part of the screen or full screen. The screenshot is then saved automatically as a .png file on your Desktop.

~* Screenshot & Video Recording Programs *~
There are two really nice little programs you can download for FREE that take screenshots and record videos of your screen. Both are very similar as they record video/ take screenshots and you can choose the folder you wish the program to automatically put all the pics/video you take in. Which is nice, since it makes things handy when you go to look at or do something with the files.
Both programs however free to download and use, they are only limited use since there are some functions of them that are "locked out" or you are unable to change unless you purchase the full version of the programs. If you are just using them for fun there really isn't much reason to buy the full version. But if you are shooting a lot of video you might want to go ahead and buy the full version if you don't like having the Program's name overlayed over the top of all your videos. I have used both of these programs at one point and have found them very easy to use and pretty user friendly. Each site has User Guides for their Programs to help you learn how to get the most out of them.
Both programs are safe to download and virus free. Please only download them from the official sites to make sure you are getting a safe/virus free copy. I have included links below for your convenience.

* BANDICAM USERS* If you decide to use Bandicam and have a 64 bit computer you may experience problems with the program when you open it sometimes. This is the program I use personally and I have experienced 2 distinct problems with Bandicam when I upgraded my computer from a 32 bit to a 64 bit system. I never had problems with it on my old computer (32 bit). One problem was it would freeze my entire computer when I first opened Bandicam the second was it wouldn't open at all and it gave me a silly error message. I was able to figure out how to fix this problem and since then I haven't had any more trouble with it.
If you experience either of these problems check and see first what size operating system you have. Go to the Start Menu and then My Computer, click on Local Disk (C:) inside it you will see 2 Program Files Folders. One is named Program Files and the other Program Files (x86). If you have the Program files (x86) folder you have a 64 bit computer. This Program Files (x86) folder is where all the 32 bit programs go.
To fix the problem with Bandicam first you need to uninstall Bandicam from your computer. You can go to Start, Control Panel then Uninstall a Program. Find Bandicam on the list, right click on it then click Uninstall. Bandicam's Uninstall window will then pop up, click Uninstall again and wait for it to complete then click finish.
Next you have to re-install Bandicam. If you have the Setup file still then great, if you don't you'll have to go download it again. Once you have the Setup program for Bandicam run it. Go through the set up as you did the first time but slowly this time. You are going to look for the moment where the Setup asks you which folder you want to install it into. It should be saying Program Files, you need to change that to Program Files (x86). Once you've changed the name of the folder you want to install it into continue installing.
So if you're a current Bandicam user who had been having these problems or a new one, this should clear it up for you. :)
