~*~ Archeology huh. So what's it all about?~*~
Well basically it's something relatively fun to do either by yourself or with your buds in the Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur. You talk with Frank Einstein (when you've progressed enough thru the storyline) who gives you his pick ax he has lovingly named "Old Betty" so you can run around looking for sparking rocks. When you find one you whack the heck out of it and find a lot of junk you can sell to the shops for some fast cash or if you're lucky you find something cool to trade in with either Profesor Jura in Firgrove or Harley who stands around in the Stoneground Camp. They give out some pretty nice prizes.
You'll be collecting dino skeletons for Professor Jura, there are four different sets. For Harley, he collects Action Figures, Unusual Gold Coins, Cell Phones and Statuettes. You can trade in as many sets as you can find. So if you've already given Professor Jura a dino skeleton, it doesn't matter. They'll take all you can give them.

Here is what you'll be looking for.
When you're near one (sometimes they have a wide range) you'll see this on your screen.
There is no limit to how long you can "hunt for treasure". The sparkly rocks rejuvenate themselves as time goes on. If a spot doesn't sparkle the first time you pass it, it may the next time. If you hit all the rocks then leave for a while more will be ready when you go back. So you can whack rocks to your hearts content for glory and Jorvik Shillings.
Every item you find earns you reputation points with AAE Archeological Department and a few Shillings to boot. Plus if it's not a tradeable item you can just go sell it all to a store for some extra cash. It adds up fast if you enjoy hunting sparkly rocks.
Below you'll find mugshots of the NPC's you'll want to find to trade items with for cool prizes, a list of full sets of bones and items that are tradeable.
I'm not sure if the treasure hunting ends after you're Admired with AAE Archaeological Department or not. I haven't quite gotten there yet. I'll let ya know it if does when I get there. In the meantime happy hunting. :)
