The Lipizzan is considered an elegant horse and is popular thanks to their natural ability to perform extremely difficult riding maneuvers. (Called the Airs Above the Ground) It is popular with certain schools and for dressage. For instance the famous Spanish Riding School in Vienna uses only Lipizzans. (They only use the Stallions in exhibition.) Click for more in depth info for this breed.

** There is a Classic Disney film entitled "Miracle of the White Stallions" filmed in 1963. Which is the true story of the evacuation of the Lipizzaner horses from the Spanish Riding School during WWII. To this day The Spanish Riding School exhibits the highest levels of Classical Dressage with these remarkable horses across the globe. Maybe you've been or will be fortunate enough to see them perform in an area close to you. Breyer Model Horses has also manufactured a few Lipizzaners over the years, one of the most notable is "Pluto" one of the foundation stallions.
